Firstly, what do you mean you've never heard of a twiddlemuff? Or maybe that was just me. I came across this as one of my universities knitting for charity projects and decided to give it a go.

For those of you who don't know a twiddlemuff is a knitted band that patients in hospital with dementia can use to keep their hands busy, which provides comfort but also means that  they don't fiddle with the medical equipment. I'd also just finished Elizabeth is Missing, which is a wonderful book and really opened my eyes to how stressful living with dementia must be.

The pattern I used to make mine can be found here

Obviously hospitals can be really terrifying places for people with dementia and this pattern was really easy and fun to follow.
